Description
At the moment, if "automatically switch to newly opened {group,person} chats" are selected, the frontend clears the highlight for all of these chats as the frontend reconnects to the server.
This is because the frontend does not distinguish between an actual IRC-join-event vs simply reconnecting-to-engine.
This leaves the user with no chance to see any highlights they received whilst disconnected from the engine, since they are all effectively automatically cleared.

This is currently a design bug and needs to be workaround for remote engines. The frontend currently relies on a push-sync and thus does not know when a sync starts and finishes.
