Virtual line break not working correctly for long messages

Description
If a long messages contains no space at all, then the line will cause a horizontal scrollbar plus breaking the timestamp/nick prefix before the message. This seems to be a Gtk.TextView issue, as we set the wordwrap to Character or WordCharacter but it's not falling back to character break for some reason, see the attached screenshot. Either the issue needs to solved with GTK+ or a workaround needs to be written that checks the length and adds an manual line break when needed.

This even happens for simple spaces for some reason, see the attached screenshot and dump
